Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Dr Tammy Oluyori, a Consultant Counselling Psychologist with over 15 years of experience supporting people affected by trauma, self-worth difficulties, body image concerns and grief.

Throughout my career, I have worked with people experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship difficulties and emotional distress. Again and again, I witnessed people blaming themselves for struggles that often made perfect sense in the context of their experiences.

What often emerged was that trauma had played a role, yet many people had never been given the language to understand it.

Over time, I became increasingly aware that trauma is far more common than many people realise. I also noticed that many conversations about trauma felt incomplete. Trauma is often reduced to events, when in reality it can shape our nervous system, relationships, identity, physical health and the way we experience ourselves and the world around us.

As a clinician, I also became aware of how often people were trying to heal within families, communities, workplaces and systems that continued to contribute to their distress. While personal healing matters, I felt there was a need for broader conversations about the conditions that shape wellbeing, suffering and recovery.

At the same time, I saw how difficult it could be for people to access trustworthy information and support. Some faced financial barriers. Others simply did not know where to start or realise they had been impacted.

Through therapy, workshops and public talks, I witnessed how powerful understanding can be. When people have the language to make sense of their experiences, shame often begins to soften and new possibilities for healing emerge.

Expert Trauma Talks was born from a desire to bring these conversations beyond the therapy room and make expert knowledge more accessible.

My hope is that it becomes a trusted platform where people can learn, ask questions, hear diverse perspectives and deepen their understanding of trauma, grief, wellbeing and healing.

Because understanding has the power to change lives.

Learn. Heal. Grow.

Explore What We Offer

What makes Expert Trauma Talks different?

Many conversations about trauma focus on what happened to an individual and how that individual can heal. While these conversations are important, we believe they are only part of the picture.

Trauma can be relational, intergenerational, cultural and systemic. It can be shaped by family experiences, discrimination, migration, poverty, exclusion and the wider social conditions in which people live.

This does not remove personal responsibility or the importance of individual healing.

Rather, it recognises that understanding trauma requires us to look at both the individual and the environments that shape human experience.

Our aim is to create conversations that are compassionate, evidence-based and broad enough to reflect the complexity of real life.

The values that shape everything we create.

Expertise you can trust

Every resource, course and workshop is grounded in clinical knowledge and delivered by verified experts. We take accuracy and rigour seriously.

Accessibility for all

Trauma does not discriminate. Neither should knowledge about it. We are committed to removing the barriers — financial, cultural and geographic — that keep information from the people who need it.

A systemic lens

We believe trauma must be understood in context. Discrimination, inequality and intergenerational experience are not peripheral — they are central to the story.

We welcome expert voices.

If you are a clinician, researcher or practitioner who shares our values, we'd love to hear from you.
